What are the advantages of jailbreaking?

Jailbreaking allows you to install apps and tweaks that Apple hasn’t signed. These include themes and tones, tweaks and tools, games and apps, ranging from work to entertainment and more. After you jailbreaking, the iOS users can install any applications like iKeyMonitor via Cydia.

Will jailbreaking remove my existing data?

When you jailbreak with Absinthe, RedSn0w, GreenPois0n, and JailbreakMe, it simply jailbreaks your device and adds one application (Cydia), which does not delete any existing data. However, jailbreaking with custom firmware generated by some tools like Redsn0w’s  Extras, PwnageTool, and Sn0wBreeze does remove the existing data and upgrade/downgrade the iOS version at the same time.

Does jailbreaking remove my warranty?

It’s not really a big deal. Apple does declare that they will not provide warranty for a jailbroken device. However, since you can restore your system to an official one, your will still have the warranty.

Can I delete the jailbreak? How do I do that?

Yes. To delete the jailbreak, please connect your iOS devices to iTunes, back up your devices and then click Restore. After the restore your device will reboot, and then iTunes will give you the option to choose which backup to restore from. The jailbreak will be removed and you need to re-configure your device.

What is the difference between jailbreaking and unblocking?

Jailbreaking refers to remove the restrictions in iOS devices so that it can install and run applications not approved by Apple, such as tweaks, themes and packages installable through Cydia.

Unlocking means the process that allows an iPhone to use other carriers that aren’t supported. For example, after unblocking, an T-Mobile iPhone can be used to send SMS and make calls on a AT&T plan with a AT&T SIM card.

What is DFU mode? How to put my device into DFU mode?

"DFU mode" means "Device Firmware Upgrade mode". If something goes wrong with your device, you can always put the device into DFU mode and restore it with iTunes.

To enter DFU mode, please connect to the device to computer, hold the POWER and HOME button together for 10 seconds, then release the POWER button but keep holding the HOME button for another 15 seconds. When your device successfully enters the DFU mode, its screen will be black and iTunes will say it’s in recovery.

Can’t find Cydia after Jailbreaking with Unc0ver?

If Cydia is not successfully installed after jailbreaking with Unc0ver, what should I do?

1. Enable the following options in Unc0ver Settings

  • Refresh icon cache
  • Reinstall Cydia

2. Re-jailbreak

If Cydia still does not appear after the jailbreak, you need to continue jailbreaking until Cydia appears.

  1. I have had the Yalu 102 JB on my iphone 6s plus since it came out with minimal problems. In the past 2 weeks, My google chrome browser will not load pages- error is Aw Snap-Something went wrong while displaying this webpage. And Safari is broken as well – error is A problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded- and it will flash the webpage and error. 3 other obscure browsers work during the jailbreak-Diigo, Ghostery, and adblock browsers. Never had a problem before. When I reboot the phone and the jailbreak is suspended till I run Yalu again, the browsers Chrome and Safari will work fine. Once Yalu runs, they error out again. Anyone have this problem? I have googled this problem and am coming up with nothing. Forgot to add I am on a 6s Plus and on 10.2 iOS.
